Something else that FedEx may ask is if you took advantage of the expat IRS deduction. If you did, then you have, in effect, declared that you live outside of the US.

A simple way of determining your status could be to answer these questions: What address is on your paycheck from your Middle East company? What address did you provide to the IRS on your last return? Do you own a house in the US (shows intent to return...)?

If you apply and have worked overseas, be sure to fully disclose the nature of the job, your living arrangements, etc. on the app.

Not sure who was the Manager of Pilot Recruitment when CS contacted him, but the guy who filled that job for a long time is now in another position. Seems that the answer would still hold true though, as you can be sure that FedEx Legal had a part in the determination.....
