Ergo, ALPA has tried and is continuing to try to get all pilots engaged in the trade of piloting in to ALPA.
Interesting that ALPA's newest talking point involves a concept that no longer exists anywhere. There is no single union that controls any trade anymore. Why do you think that is? It's because there's no barrier to entry for a new group to join a trade and be non-union. Our profession is no different.

This latest trade union talk is a silly attempt by ALPA to show relevance. They are failing at representing pilots, so now they say it would be so much better if they could just control the entire profession. That's what you do when you're failing. You claim the need for something that no longer exists and has almost no chance of ever returning. It changes the focus from failure.
