Don't know if the -200 is like the -700 and -800, but the 737's relatively short elevator moment arm and low mounted engines makes it very unstable in pitch with power changes.

If they are letting you use the auto throttles, turn them off when you are hand flying. Makes it a lot easier to anticipate the power related pitch changes.
