I have to disagree with this, even though it has been accepted with so many accolades here. I think you are better served by always taking a job with the ethic of being prepared and ready to work for improvement in every action you make while there. More importantly, always have a plan B and even a C depending upon the amount of risk you are undertaking, and plan for things to possibly get worse than you are
told they are now. One person's reason for taking a particular path is likely the reason another person did not take it. I never plan on things to be as they are right now, as one thing is for certain, everything changes, for better or for worse.
I think the conclusion and behavior from our two view points both air towards the same caution when making changes in your life, and the real difference in only one of perception. Albert Einstein said, “There are two ways to live: you can live as if nothing is a miracle; you can live as if everything is a miracle.” I prefer the latter.
