Quote: Also anther question with these. On the last ticket I was put in jail for the night, wasn't drinking or anything but I was going 24 over. I was fingerprinted but nothing came about just paid a fine the next morning. This is the ticket that said would go away when i was 18. The question is, is would the record go away for going to jail as well (was told it would) is there any way to find out? Application jsut asks for any misdemeanor or felony(which wasn't the case with me), but i know they do a fingerprint check so i didn't know what to do.
If you're not sure if it will show up on your record, better report it to the airlines.

A couple (= 2) tickets under age 18 will not be a problem as long as there was no alcohol involvement or reckless.

If "a couple" = 6 or 7, then you have a problem, unless they really are sealed.

The airlines get their info from the FBI national database. Generally, minor tickets do not get reported to the national database, although more serious traffic offenses probably do.

An arrest however makes me think the offense might have been serious enough to make it to the FBI database. The general consensus is that those records DO NOT get purged or expunged.

Generally it is best to be honest with airlines, in addition to the FBI database, some of them can and will do their own search of local court records. Even if somebody told you something was removed, they could have been wrong, or mistakes happen.

It is better to not get hired, than to get hired and then get fired a few weeks later when they get the results from your background check. Fired from 121 airline for lying on application = never getting hired at another airline again.
