I know crazy that someone would be fired or punished over something, but errant comments about job action etc at a meeting may be used against someone.
That said, our guys have been looking it to some way to go "live" with these meeting for some time. I guess if we push hard enough they will rush to press on it, and then when someone gets burned, we already know who we will blame for not being careful enough.
I know that statement irks people, but those are the facts. Not all people want what is best for you or us. I definitely would not want to see some of the comments made at meeting showing up on You Tube or in the press. As they say, once it is on the internet it is there forever.
Okay ACL whatever you say, if security is the issue, using hotel conference/meeting rooms is not the answer.
We will never have a SIPRnet at DALPA, nor do we need one. I personally do not feel like the whole webinar thing should be put on hold to protect the (dare I say) idiot who thinks advocating an "illegal" job action is a good idea.
I also havent been on the receiving end of any ALPA communication that I dont think would survive the scrutiny of youtube. Maybe that is a part of the problem, but the rest of this thread is dedicated to that. I wish that my perception was that DALPA did have some master strategy and/or grand plan that was worth protecting, truth is I do not have that perception.
If you feel like you are the holder of some magical keys to unlock the hidden treasures of the Delta pilots' futures just because you get to eat lunch at the BBQ kitchen with some mustache wearing insider, more power to you. I know you are a line pilot, but as far as DALPA information security is concerned, the Delta pilots need to have some good news leaked...and pretty soon, regardless of who might hear it.
BS flag thrown on security...
I did not intend to shoot the messenger in this post tho, so ACL, no direct offense intended.
