If they don't do things the way YOU want them done, you come on here and criticize them. You will say they spend too much; that they're out of touch with what you want; that they need to put more emphasis on Scope/pay/benefits/work rules. They need to man-up and be willing to tell the company "hell no!" more often!

Not you.

Them.

You're too busy to commute into a meeting. That's an extra day every 3 months, for pete's sake!!

Too hard!!

No sweat, my brother. I'll go. And my participation will help shape our union. And that will pi$$ you off more.

Win/Win

You've taken SOME action though. You sent a card in for DPA. Maybe they'll replace ALPA, and then you can be too busy to participate at DPA. At some point, the forums will be filled with pilots whining about how DPA isn't doing things the way they want them done. They'll develop complex conspiracy theories describing how ALPA "cheerleaders" just couldn't let go...and how they undermined the efforts of DPA by attending meetings and tying things up, or forcing their "agenda". I'll read, "DPA is paying Seham too much!" and "Why has it taken us 5 years to make NO progress on our contract?".
I did? hmmmmm must've been drunk or asleep when I did that, cause I don't remember it.

Whose panties are in a bunch now? You're too easy. I have not one time talked about supporting DPA.. not once. I think that a little competition is good now and then, and I am all for them in that regard. And in the past, I have volunteered for union stuff. None of your business what it was, but I worked during 2 previous contracts. So I have participated. So excuuuuuuse me if I don't feel like flying to NY to hear the LEC chair thank all the volunteers for all their hard work, and read all the old business, only to adjourn in about fifteen minutes. Probably 85% of the meetings I have attended in the past were a complete waste of time. When we really start talking about contract 2020, I'll show up with bells on. Until then.. uh probably not. But by all means, drive in to ATL and go to as many meetings as you like.. and please continue to shape the union into something that will make us all proud.

BTW.... Your rant is eerily similar Charlie Villanueva's... check it out...
