The Frontier/Republic merger proves that. 2001-hire Frontier captains were merged in with 2004-hire Republic captains that were making less than the Frontier captain's first officer. Given that our regionals are now flying the equivalent of DC-9's, merging with them would not be a straight staple. Straight staples do not happen anymore. There are no exceptions to that rule.
