While reading through the thread, there were 4 page ads for different rewards cards, not including the examples from each of you guys :-)
I do find it a bit interesting that the f/a's give more emphasis to the sales pitches than the safety briefings - guess we know what's truly important to mgmnt.
On the earlier note on flight ops being a support role to marketing, it's happening everywhere. I work at a very small nonprofit, and we just hired a marketing director at a higher rate than everyone but the CEO. I always thought our services should sell themselves (and therefore pay the people responsible for providing those services accordingly), but it seems managers everywhere are drinking the same kool-aid.
Oh well. Off my soap-box now, maybe if I drink some kool-aid everything will feel better
