Joe;
I dont know if I get it or not.
I dont hate regional pilots...just another squirrel trying to get a nut. DALPA (we) effed up loosening scope and now we cant seem to put together an official gameplan to get it back except to hear guys say: "how much are you willing to pay to recapture scope?"
I am against ALPAs support of the flight school over experience arguement. I have always thought that if you want to fly people in big airplanes, you should have an atp. What I think is immaterial. ALPA's official policy is weak and lagged the CAPA.
I think that passing a major airline's interview process is hardly a weeding out process, but whatever DAL does works, because I always fly with great folks.
I don't feel like "I have arrived" because I am a "major airline pilot." I made 45K/year more on my DAL w-2 as a 5th year pilot than I do as a 12th year (payscale) pilot. I have had a second career since before bankruptcy. If I had arrived, I wouldn't need/want that.
We always have pilots on here talk about scope as it relates to the regional pilot...how they arent qualified...what about Alaska?
I am rambling, but I dont know if I get it...I am pretty sure ALPA doesnt get it though either.
