Satchip:

I think the union should work to remove the advantage management has by playing musical jets and destroying longevity as new regional flavor of the month airlines pop up, then disappear. In the case of ACL65, 80Kts and others, they were treated differently than the rampers, managers and gate agents who go to keep their longevity for benefits & pay as they passed from one division to another. Total losses in their career earnings (pay & vacation) are probably around $300,000 when compared to the treatment of other employee groups.

ALPA would instantly be more relevant if "permitted aircraft" were required to be operated by ALPA members.

Seniority is another issue entirely which is dependent on mergers.
