Maybe at united and us airways. Yes, 1st year pay is a paycut for regional captains but 2nd year fo pay at American and delta on the md80 is the equivalent to 9 and 10 year rj cap pay at skywest. By year 3 pay (after your 2 year anniversary) the pay is equivalent to 15 and 17 year rj cap pay with better benefits ( travel and health) not to mention an A fund retirement or 12% b fund compared to a max of 6% 401k match at skywest.

With all that said qol will probably be worse unless you happen to live in NYC or Mia or dtw. And the fact that you will be back on reserve for a while.
