I got the same answer from the lady at AFPC about being within one year to apply for the extension. From what I remember about the wording was that so long as your commander approved it sounded pretty automatic, however, now I hear it has to be approved at the Air Staff level. And with the drawbacks in officers, I'm getting skeptical. I'm hoping for the one year extension, and by then they'll realize how badly they screwed up again with the VSP stuff and need more flyers.
