Default First Year salary

New to the forum. Looking to make a change to 121 flying. The biggest concern is the salary cut leaving my current corporate job. Curious if any recent hires can provide realistic salary (base, bonus, picking up extra time). Excluding Per-Diem, benefits and 401K.

Thanks in advance.

Here's what I would budget for:

Months 1-3: 75 hr @ $36 = $8100
"Initial" bonus: $5000
"Off IOE Bonus" : $26000
Monthly pay 4-12: 85 hr @ $36 = $27540
Monthly per diem 4-12: 300 hrs @$1.80= $4860

Total: $71,410

If you want to include the 12 month retention bonus it adds $10k. Having a 91K/135/121 jet type rating adds another $7k.

Months 4-12 assume an extra 10 hours above minimum, which is not unrealistic.

I agree with this. One trip of CTL will easily put you over 85.

Default First Year Pay

Also looking for clarification and thanks for the previous posts for typical pay expectations.

Is there a requirement to pay any portions of sign-on bonuses back if for whatever reason I didnt stay for 1 year? The Part 91 bonus only applies to those coming from a fractional correct? Assuming my corporate Part 91 contract work doesn't qualify. Thanks in advance!

But keep in mind, year 2 and 3 may not pay that high unless upgrades start for real big numbers.

$5000 initial bonus is considered "earned" on completion of IOE.

The $26k bonus, type rating bonus (for those that are eligible), and $10k 1 year bonus must be paid in full if you leave in the first 12 months of employment. They are pro-rated for the second 12 months are are considered earned at your 2 year anniversary.

You may also defer the "big" bonuses to your 1 year anniversary and have them paid in 12 installments with no obligation to repay any portion.

The type rating bonus only applies to 121, 135, and 91k.

I'm 99% sure that's all accurate but I'm sure someone will correct me if it isn't.
