Over at Mesa, we are looking at transitioning to Charts+. Someone posted Air Wisconsin uses the charts.
Is this true? If so, what has been your experience? Charts+ seems to consume more battery power than Jepp. How are you compensating for that? Portal batteries? Flight deck power?

Yes. No GPS in our iPads. They seem to suck battery way faster than JeppFD but maybe it’s just me. A 12 hour duty day with judicious screen locking seems to burn about 90% of the battery. Seems like it’s sucking up a lot of juice for basically being a glorified PDF reader but that’s just me.

The rules were written for a reason and science backs the fact that decision making deteriorates beyond those periods defined in 117. Maybe we wouldn’t have 5 leg 12 hour days if it started becoming a duty issue for crews. Mainline doesn’t take extensions. It’s regional bull****.
