Is it acceptable to believe the company is not going to take the money at this point?

Check CSS messages. TK posted a Vacancy for the furloughs. Says expect getting furloughed again after March.

So are they just putting the furloughed pilots on payroll until March and then furloughing them again?

I wonder how deep the cuts go this time?

Do you furloughed folks have access to CSS to read the announcement? If not, I can copy and paste it here.

We do not have access to CSS.
Thanks in advance.

“The attached vacancy notice is being released in anticipation of entering into an agreement for the Payroll Support Program with the United States Department of Treasury. This vacancy will result in the recall of pilots who were furloughed on October 1st and wish to return to active status. The effective date of this vacancy will be March 2, 2021. However, the specific report date and location for pilots recalled will be provided after the bid award in recall letters and may be based on individual training needs. Although we don’t have final guidance from Treasury, our expectation is that involuntary furloughs will be allowed beginning April 1, 2021. Absent any extension of the PSP program before that time, we will post a displacement bid that will result in enough furloughs to right-size the number of active pilots to match that of our operational needs. Unfortunately demand has simply not returned anywhere close to a level that would be required to avoid furloughs after March 31st.

I understand this process is not ideal and like all of you wish the situation was much different. However, we will continue to do our best to respond to the demands of the market and our mainline partner.

The bid window will open at 1600 today and changes to your permanent bids must be entered no later than 2359 Central Time, Monday, January 25, 2021

Please open and view the attached PDF for further details of the vacancy notice.”

Thank you for sharing this. The folks in my class will be happy to read this. We completed all training except IOE.

The announcement seems very confusing. Are you guys just getting paid for Feb and March and then getting let go again March 31st?

It talks about training so I’m assuming they’ll try and get people current again? Not sure if they would do that in February or March. I definitely have a few remaining questions...
