Enemy seems extreme. Why is it so bad to want aviation to be complimentary to the environment? A lot of historical conservatives were all for preserving the environment around us. We should want our industry to continue to evolve, so it can be successful and good for the air we breath etc!
Just out of curiosity do you have any idea of the total amount of global greenhouse gas emissions the entire aviation industry contributes?
It's only 1.9%, so even cutting it in half would be a drop in the bucket!

I just read this a short while ago and thought I should share it.
While others may disagree, from a personal standpoint I do think that if we’re not flying because of furlough, the least the company can do is keep us current and proficient by way of some sim time.
The article pretty much highlights that airlines are more about dollars and cents than a continuing culture of safety by ensuring people who don’t fly don’t forget their skill set, proficiency and operating procedures so that when they come back from furlough the rust isn’t as bad and it doesn’t result in safety issues or an incident which puts our certificates at risk.
Also, yanking our iPads away from us actually did us a disservice.
as the saying goes, if you don’t use it, you lose it.

If thinking about others and the earth makes people the enemy, maybe it’s worth being your enemy. The market and industry will adapt, the world will continue, it will cost a little bit short term but long term will be neutral. Sometimes you should think about more than yourself. Remember the world will continue without “me” or you
Gov. Cuomo, "Who cares. They died."
Not extreme at all. The world is a better place now. Right? In the name of saving the planet.

Aviation can absolutely move forward with cleaner technology, we do it all the time. United announced a huge initiative to be carbon neutral by 2050, no government made them do that. I think it's a great goal!

It is what it is- Trump. See I too can cite phrases that have nothing to do with the topic at hand here. Not to mention context. One guys point was, who care cares at all, can’t change, won’t change don’t change. And the the other was, who cares how they died, we need to prevent as much death in the future as possible.

You have to be brainwashed by CNN or MSNBC and the likes to believe Climate Change is even a top 25 threat to the world. The air we breathe has never been cleaner since the industrial revolution. Then we have to start looking at mental health as a major concern, which is obviously a top 5 priority for the country.
I want to treat the environment as best we can, and we can do better. It's only because of the oil industry that we are arguing about this. Make to me the argument that we should disregard the environment entirely even though we have technology that will be better for it right now that we could use.
