Here we go!! It's still "Bush's Fault" OMG. Unreal. Liberalism is truly a mental disease. Unless you can stay on subject and defend the utter and near complete wipe out of 50-seat regional jets during Obama's term, you've got no credibility. The next 4 years are going to be a disaster, complete shutdown of the country, prosperity, and shift to Socialism.

Makes for a good debate or discussion sure, but I think you guys are really beating your heads for nothing or for something you have no control over.

Our skill set isn’t a 50 seater skill set. We are trainable and we can adapt to a 75 seater or 90 seater or 1000 seater if need be. It’s not the end of the world if 50 seaters go away. There are other planes we can fly.

Right now our focus should be on hoping we get back to work soon especially for us furloughed lot. Our lives and finances have been impacted severely, so it doesn’t matter what we fly as long as we fly and earn and return to normalcy over the course of 2021.

Of course we could get trained on the new supersonic stuff and fly that fine, too. But when a company owns a big asset like 50 or so airplanes, it's not too savvy to just throw it away. Keep em flying, as long as gas and Mx aren't exorbitant. Let pilots bid for cargo or pax if we're doing split service.

Comair has slashed its fleet, flights and work force in the last seven years. Delta said the smaller regional planes were expensive to fly because they were not as fuel-efficient and cost more to maintain as the fleet aged.

“We just really couldn’t get the cost structure to where we wanted to get it,” said Don Bornhorst, senior vice president of Delta Connection and a former Comair president. “It ultimately was a cost issue; it wasn’t a quality issue with Comair.”

The customers (passengers) hated the CRJ 200 20 years ago yet here we are still flying them. The airlines don’t give a crap about passenger opinion. They want everyone to believe they do, but they don’t.

Let's spend $787 Billion on money and give it to special interest extreme left wing democratic organizations and invest in companies like Solyndra.

What you can't defend is the parking of RJ's in the desert due to Obama's policies, so you keep diverting the discussion. Spoken like a true liberal.

https://www.newsmax.com/FastFeatures.../29/id/621537/

In 2009, the California-based green energy solar panel manufacturer Solyndra received a $535 million loan. The stimulus-funded loan, which was originally applied for in 2006 under the Bush Administration, was guaranteed by the Department of Energy.

2. While visiting Solyndra in May of 2010, President Barack Obama claimed Solyndra was “leading the way toward a brighter and more prosperous future.”

If White House officials handled taxpayer dollars irresponsibly for the sake of promoting Obama's signature piece of legislation at the time, it would constitute a potential ethical lapse that resonates with criticisms against the stimulus and ballooning deficits."

"Now here we are, $535 billion in wasted taxpayer dollars later, and it seems that the administration is intent on going full speed ahead. In fact, the president recently said in an interview that the Solyndra deal was 'a good bet.' Talk about a disconnect."

So a company that the government gave a loan to failed. That happens all the time, in the private sector more than anywhere else. Sometimes you make bets that don't work out. Are you telling me that there are no companies that the Trump administration made an investment in that didn't go well?

The planes were expensive and fuel was expensive and the economy was bad...what part of big banks making bad bets and a housing bubble did I vote for exactly?

In this case, you can narrow the list down by figuring out who is a) a CA b) been with AW for about 10-15 years c) is a lifer BUT doesn’t want to be a lifer d) talks openly about why they cannot figure out why the legacies just aren’t calling despite 1000’s of PIC e) blames: women, minorities, the gays, and Obama for being stuck.

I’m guessing during my AWAC tenure, the person I’m thinking of was DCA based as well.
