although it may not be true, it is obvious to see that way less open time on the CA side in Chicago is that it feels like American knows we bit off more then we can chew and finally said enough is enough. The constant junior man’s, having no CA’s on reserve, and then September and October the flying is a lot less. Probably put some pressure on management to fix their issues in regards to staffing. |

Fellow Pilots,
Your MEC reported to you on September 8 that your Negotiating Committee had reached a Tentative Agreement (TA) with the Company. Your Negotiating Committee, as well as the Company’s Negotiators, had signed a Tentative Agreement that was subject to our ALPA pilot ratification process. Recognizing that this pilot group has worked under a substandard, non-competitive contract for far too long and the MEC promptly convened in Chicago on September 11-12 to vote on whether to send the TA to the Pilot group for a ratification vote. During that meeting, the MEC carefully and meticulously reviewed the Agreement with the ALPA Negotiating Committee. As we have reported, wanting to be sure of the commitments in the TA, we requested that the Company provide some clarifications on some of the TA’d language. Two days later, the MEC and the Negotiating Committee reconvened to review the Company’s responses and your MEC was ready to vote on approval of this Tentative Agreement. However, the company’s lead negotiator then informed us that our signed Tentative Agreement needed to be reviewed again by the Air Wisconsin Board of Directors. Your MEC and Negotiating Committee were shocked to hear that the Company was not ready for the MEC to vote on the Tentative Agreement signed September 7, 2023. The Company made clear that until the ARW BOD acted, there could be no MEC vote on approving this TA. We believe that this bureaucratic action on the part of the Company is wholly contrary to the airline industry’s standard negotiating practices. This pilot group has patiently waited far too long to achieve a competitive contract. We are all very well accustomed to the daily maintenance delays, SOC meltdowns, and phone delays. We are once again experiencing a Company delay and we share your frustration. Your pay and quality of life improvements are currently ground-stopped by this Company! As we write this message, we have just learned that the ARW BOD will meet on Tuesday, September 27, 2023. Pending a successful outcome of that meeting, the MEC will move with all due speed to meet as soon as Wednesday to act on a resolution that could approve the TA to be sent out to you, the ARW pilots, for a ratification vote. Current Air Wisconsin pilots, what forums do you use to discuss this stuff? This one is pretty much dead for some reason. I think this TA is a steaming pile of crap and I will be voting NO but I’d like to hear/debate different opinions so that we all get a chance to discuss more than just what the union wants us to hear.
