Quote: 20 plus years and now you’re a fo on a crappy rj200? I’d go fly for atlas or net jets or something before I did that. They are crazy for sticking around.
Those getting downgraded are taking like a $106/hour pay cut

Ouch. $221 to $114/hr.
They’d be making more as a 74 FO for a couple years at an ACMI. Of course the 17&13 would wear even a younger pilot down.

This is dated but that being said, warts and all, I met some nice folks at Z-Dubs when I worked there. When I’d call up with a question or a problem I got help from most of the folks in Appleton (Marg-No doesn’t count), my base manager was awesome and most of the crews were really cool.
But, it isn’t a shocker when the 6 owners refused to try out the latest passing fad in the early 2000’s airline business; the 70 seater. Lost out on Air Tran and a few other CPA’s.
I feel for the folks. It was cool calling Appleton and speaking with some lady hearing “ YOU Becha Honey!” when I thanked them for something. Sad

Quote: How many pilots still working? What kind of flying is there? Ferry flights to Roswell?
Seems like it's finally curtains for Air Willy.

Any anecdotal reports on where pilots are working now? Some FA's seem to have gone to AA.
Best to ya'll.
A great orator once said: "everyone has a plan until you get punched in the face", well that's what happened when the American contract was lost, so the company lost 3 years of planning for the future. They will figure out a new path, (in 2005 they came up with 125 million overnight to save us airways and secure a flying contract, they gots deep pockets), they aint going any where. There is still sports team flying with college softball, baseball, and outstanding EAS bids. Obviously for the employees, the jobs lost, this set back is absolutely horrific. It leaves many questioning what happened with the American contract and perseverating that they should have never left United.

Their problem is that no one wants to fly on a CRJ200 anymore. AW once said they wanted to be the premier CRJ2 airline in the country. Thats up there with saying you are the premier Dash-8 or Saab2000 airline. No one wants to fly on those Whistling Siht Cans Of Death. The owners always wanted to make a profit, ALWAYS. They never wanted to take a risk. They got greedy, they squeezed the golden goose for every last gold egg, and now that goose is dead, rotting away in ATW and MKE doing nothing but a ORD turn for no one.

I would love to be proven wrong and see the phoenix rise from the ashes, but its hard to see you guys waiting for a miracle. The senior pilots couldnt leave because the vacation trip touching was too good, didnt want PBS for better schedules, and the excuses went on why they wouldn't leave. It was so sad to see.

But man, what if they brought back the BAe-146 ??? Those guys would have their prayers answered

5 APU’s but also the best overnights in Aspen. Roomiest cockpit and that thing landed like melted butter. Those were the days. Or so I heard over and over again.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they even furloughed more pilots and just cut down to 20 active pilots

20 Pilots?
...I guess there's no need for this Crew Planner anymore.

Each pilot has their own circumstances.
Don't judge. It could happen to YOU.
