I am furloughed from a "major". In a good position for a recall as it stands right now. But with all merger mania etc who knows when/if I' ll get back. For me, I 'm just not willing to mess with seniority resignation. And to be honest, if I did get hired there, I'd be gone at the first opportunity anyway so.

Can't ever fault a pilot for doing whats best for them and/or their family.

The company wouldn't think twice to cut you lose if it was in their best interest (furlough, etc) so one shouldn't shed any tears for the company when a pilot splits for greener pastures.

you have to resign and give up your seniority number from previous jobs when you start your first day of Indoc. So it wouldnt be wise for guys to come here looking to go back to their old jobs once they recall...bad idea.

Im surprised MGMT isnt hiring more guys that were furloughed with CRJ types. Im no brain surgeon but Im sure its a hell of a lot easier to train procedures to a new hire rather than an entirely new airplane.

So are you implying that you deserve a F/O position at Air Wis. more than a furloughed United or USA 3000 high timer simply because you "want" to be there? Should they not apply because you, I assume a furloughed RJ F/O, can have a chance to work there? I apologize if I am interpreting the tone of your post incorrectly, but I feel they have the same right to be there as you do-regardless of their reasons or intentions. If you are looking to blame anybody for this, blame Air Wis, they are the ones choosing who to call. I agree I don't understand why they are hiring guys that will most likely bail ASAP.

Having said that, I honestly hope you do get a call for an interview. Air Wis seems like a good, relatively speaking, place to work. I hate to see any pilot on the street. I got the phone call intv. (PM if anybody wants the gouge on that) and turned it down because of the whole seniority resignation deal, no way around that. This is my second furlough in 10 years, I know it sucks!

Just look at a few things about AWAC before taking the job.

-Serious question about future of company. Without new business the company will fold in less than 5 yrs
- Reserve is pretty awful.
-Without attrition you will never see the left seat.

On the positives:

Great crews
Contract
Good Vacation trip touching

Cons:

non commutable scheduleds
East coast flying
CRJ200's that are falling apart due to outsourcing of mechanics
Morale of most of the pilots is pretty bad
Short staffed

This would be a good place to come and keep the right seat warm as you search for other opportunites. Under the current ownership they have shown time and time again they aren't willing to give on their fat profit margin to help make this be a long term airline.

Grass is always greener but just make sure you are ok with the above before coming over here.

Hi!

Buddy was at Colgan interview and there was a UPS guy there.

JetBlue starts hiring tmo.

PS-Sometimes when you "resign" your seniority, your company will not accept it, so you can go back. Heard UAL was trashing resignation letters, and would call the guys back anyway, for example.
