in ORF. Anyone have any pictures/news on this? Apparently it took out an eagle while on approach to Norfolk on Tuesday.

An American Bald Eagle was killed by an airplane in ORF on Tuesday. It was the female of a breeding pair that was raising a clutch of chicks. The VA Game and Inland Fisheries Dept. determined that the chicks' chances of survival in their natural environment were considerably compromised by the loss of one parent and therefore transferred them to a wildlife shelter to be nurtured until such time as they can be released into the wild.

It was bound to happen at some point when they put a wildlife preserve/botanical gardens a mile northeast of the runway. It sucks but.......

Do some of you ever wonder why your crew keeps calling in sick?

Nope, there is no wondering involved.

I can always change the "Bald Eagle" in the title to "Haliaeetus leucocephalus" if it makes you guys feel better.
