Alaskan isn’t the darling it once used to be, no doubt. With the hiring boom on the horizon, the able and the willing should jump ship. Let’s face it, VX was never a career airline. It was a slight step above a regional and far from the legacy/desirable majors. I haven’t heard of anyone choosing VX over the legacies, SWA, and FedEx/UPS. I know some of you will be butt hurt but VX boys ‘n girls should accept the fact that y’all scored big. At the end of the day, Alaskan is still a career legacy.

Career Legacy is poetic license at its finest....By definition we are a jet regional. Merging with Virgin makes us a jet national. Alaska was hardly a scheduled airline until Jet America forced their hand. To be a Legacy airline you have to have a legacy contract....which we dont have and have not had for at least 13 years....What we do have and have always had is Legacy Ego!!!!And it has assured us that we will slways trail by 20% plus the major airlines in the US....

Alaskan will continue to fly the “thicker” routes for Skywest and assist with their growth plan. Go team!

Lagging trend
I found the slide of previous CBAs/contracts showing Alaska vs industry leading pay not excitable. Alaska has been 7.5% to 19.1% BELOW the industry leader with a rough calculated average of around -12%...granted that’s just rates.
Let’s calm the Ak/vx is better crap, honestly this place is more 7th best vs peers. Fighting about 7th place is as cool as crew access. Trade denied! Gear boy has it right. |
lottery? what contest in hell did we win? I can think of nothing positive that has occurred since we were acquired and have watched the morale of a happy group crumble into the pile of rubble that your flight attendants look like.
