Having a backbone should be a requirement. But hey living in the PNW makes up for that, right?

VX pilots win the lottery and now you guys are *****ing? Alaskan management may be shrewd, uncaring, a bunch of conniving rats, fill in the blank, but they are not stupid. Alaskan will not tank, at least not anytime soon.

You might want to check to debt/equity ratio of JBLU and ALK. . . you might question your statement on 'debt.'

I'd have to look that up but my point was the state of the two airlines before the acquisition. Of course the debt/equity ratio is going to be high for AAG since it paid $4 billion for an unprofitable airline, 6 Airbuses and a few gates. It wasn't an acquisition for growth but rather a forced hand to keep competition out. Hindsight is always 20/20 but it would have been better had a private holding group acquired VX and piecemeal it out. Fortune....lottery....yeah, you know what I mean.

I wonder what it was that happened last year that caused Alaska's debt/equity ratio to jump from 0.238 to over 1.00...

My point being, JBLU is not as debt-ridden as they once were. . .it wasn't a slap at ALK. . .

I want to clear up a few things.
My original post was aimed at the few VX dudes on this forum who were denigrating Alaskan Airways without facts. I'm far from a company guy and Angle Lake is full of conniving rat bastards but some of y'all are speaking out of your sphincter. I'm all for pointing out the faults of this dysfunctional company with facts and not just based on emotions.
I personally don't hold anything against VX pilots. After all, we are all just trying to earn a living flying airplanes and we are all in this together whether we like it or not. None of us asked for this mess and I get it.
I may have come across a wee bit blunt but I don't beat around the bush (don't get any perverted ideas btw;)) and can't stand retards with mouths who can't back up their statements.
I look forward to the day when we can all sit around, lay our differences aside, and have a cold one on a layover. Oh, make sure that the captains buy!

It’s entertaining, isn’t it?!:) It’s all fun & games until the SLI hits the fan.

I was hoping that things have changed for the better since my departure but nothing seems to have changed except for the increased tension. No one to blame but the management for sure. One thing that I took away from my short time there is that Alaska management promotes a toxic culture, especially Beanito M. He encompasses zero leadership and I would, without hesitation, label him as the Antichrist of all management. In this day and age where even the most anti-labor management is putting up a concerted effort to bring labor together and to attract pilots, BM & BT are pushing away the very work groups who are their true and loyal work horses. Sadly, it's a recipe for failure. For the sake of my friends and an airline I truly wanted and tried to be a part of, I sincerely hope that the board of directors and management can get their act together.
On a different note, the grass is much greener on this side. It's so green, it smells like money!

THIS!!

I totally agree with your comment about the toxic culture.

Morale here hasn't been this bad for a long time. Dragging out the TPA and JCBA may have saved them money in the short-term, but it has done a lot of damage elsewhere. Putting out those videos was also a mistake. Sure, it may get a random CSA or office worker to hate the "greedy" pilos, but it clearly displayed the lack of leadership on the parts of BT & BM. They are nothing more than mere managers and penny pinchers.

Morale is going to be further destroyed with the SLI. Another issue that's going to get dragged out and go through arbitration. Most of us who are not super senior are going to be affected by it.
