My understanding of how the FA's got holiday pay is this: Flight Attendants were calling in sick for holidays, which prompted managers to meet flight attendants in the jetways following their trips and assigning them to work over the holidays that they had bid off. They were senior enough to hold holidays off, but were forced to work or face discipline. This then led to flight attendants calling in sick for the entire week before holidays so they wouldn't get forced to work on a day off. Then the company had huge staffing problems which forced them to strike a deal to get people to show up.

Well you’d better sack up and get used to it. NONE of us want to be Alaska pilots and hate that we are your comrades now. While this place is certainly so awful because of the leadership, it is almost equal blame to the spineless pilot group that calls themselves alaska that agreed to bend over for management. Latest case to point at is immeadiately caving on orange lanyards. Alaska is awful, you needed us more than we needed you.

Anyway I can only speak for myself in saying that I don’t want any of you on our seniority list. But it is what it is! I’m gonna “sack up” and extend a hand and make the best of it with our new adopted flight crew members. Maybe we can change some things in the future with our asswipe AirGroup parents.
