Orange Lanyards outnumbered the management suck-ups by a healthy margin this morning...not sure about Seattle but elsewhere it was a beautiful sight

The mere fact that AAG took delivery of two A321NEO's with these "special paint schemes" (SF Giants and Most West Coast) WITHOUT VX or AS markings/logos/ANYTHING to show the general public this is an Alaska or Virgin America airplane says all you need to know about this place and who runs it. Our competition in the PNW and Cali really don't have to do anything special to beat us, they just have to sit around and wait for us beat ourselves which we're doing an outstanding job of right now.

So is AS's future to be like Ryan Air or Spirit? Hated by customers but profitable because of low fares and wages?

It would be nice to at least have some sort of an identity, whatever that might be. I do not know if management knows either.

It's just going to deteriorate to a workplace that more and more employees hate. Company is making record profits, but they are drunk on cutting cost.

They run too lean an operation. Then they do a knee-jerk purchase of an airline with a whole different business model and identity. We're talking about oil and vinegar.

The continued cost-cutting and the lack of leadership and vision is becoming more obvious to the other frontline employees.

This is going to take a toll to a point that our customer service is going to suffer. So, eventually our passengers will hate us too.

The inbreeding at Angle Lake prevents them from having a paradigm shift. Doesn't seem likely that we'll ever get a real CEO with vision and leadership. Our BOD would hate that.

Instead, we have a Boy Scout former CPA who is tone deaf. His lieutenants are tone deaf BM and uber tone deaf yes-man VP of Flight Ops TK.

I don't have much hope for things changing for the better.

They would have if they hadn't run off Greg Saretsky in favor of the current administration.

He always gave me the creeps. I was glad at the time to see him go. He always struck me as a lotion on the skin or get the hose kinda guy.

Packrat 12-27-2017 03:23 AM

Maybe, but you can't deny what he's accomplished up at WestJet. Remember it was his vision that got us off the West Coast and to Hawaii.

Klsytakesit 12-27-2017 04:18 AM

Brad has always creeped me out....Like the skin on the lotion or worse. Would always rather work for an A-hole who is upfront about it as Greg was than an A-hole who is a creeper and tries to hide behind a “mister nice guy” exterior....
