Revenue matters.

Hawaii won’t matter once the Max is flying and Southwest has theirs. Alaska will probably just pull out of the Hawaii market over time claiming “fierce competition”. Unless of course they can figure out out to fly E175s out there.

Let’s not get into the weeds on Airbus and Boeing. Single fleet would give us all better QOL and bases to choose from. “Most” of the guys online don’t care what plane they end up on. Sadly I have heard some mumblings of another smaller airframe. I believe even MEA has alluded to this possibility.

Our big concern regarding fleet is if they get the E2 is that it stays mainline.

Why would it? They could order 30 for Horizon right now and tell us to pound sand.

Exactly, and as new guy said they could put as many as they want at Horizon.

because higher rates at Horizon would still be lots cheaper than bringing them to Alaska?

seriously, do you think all those FOs they have sitting reserve at Horizon wouldn't vote yes to a contract offer to fly E190E2s at $50 an hour to start? Or that the bottom half of the captains wouldn’t do it for $90?
all they need is a 50.01% of the vote.

So what would that save them over mainline? There’s a REASON other pilot groups have fought so hard for scope.

Horizon does not get to vote on what airframe they fly. And it is a common type according to some expert on here
