Same airport that the 737 had a midair impact with a salmon. Does that mean Alaska will make a bear livery for a 737?

Not Quite. The Fish was in Juneau on take off

I thought all 737s (after the -200 series with the straight -8s) had damaged cowlings!

Yes. They get squished flat on the first hard landing that bottoms out the oleos.
