This board is so typical….anyone comes on here and says they like the job, and they get beaten & bashed.

I said I came here eyes wide open, but apparently y’all are too dense to get what that means….

Let me reiterate, I love the job & crews, hate the contract. Is that simple enough?

I think you got everyone's ire because you were dismissive of everyone's well established complaints. People have been living under this contract for a long time, and it's death by 1000 cuts. There's nothing overtly terrible that a newbie can point to and say "wow, that's bad." It's just the day in, day out grind of disappointments and personal sacrifices you will make to the Eskimo that will get you to that emotional place.

You're a newbie, so let me give you some advice. Don't look back. Congratulations, you've made it. Now it's time to up your standards.

Look upwards towards your peers. Not downwards to where you've come from.
Because where you're looking is where you're heading.

I get the complaints. Many are real, some are way over dramatized. Remind me again where my standards came off as low? Because I said I can survive reserve? Came from corporate? What is it?

Again it’s hilarious how you get absolutely trashed here if you say anything positive about working for the Eskimo.

Welcome aboard! Typical internet. I love the people I work with for the most part. We have some oddballs here and there, but mostly I can say that I enjoy having a beer on a layover with most of the guys I fly with. Our work rules are in dire need of improvement. Everything else does too, but personally, I don't have a massive beef with everything else as much as Section 25 (Scheduling). Honestly my regional airline I came from had better work rules. I wish the Union would publish our schedules vs. say Commutair (or insert virtually any regional airline here). I would almost guarantee you that Commutair pilots have a better QOL in general than Eskimo pilots. That's not to bash my co workers or anyone I work with, but that's the environment we are currently in. I'm hoping and extremely cautiously optimistic (my nature) that things will improve with the next contract. If not, I have one vote. That vote will mostly be spent on Section 25 and Scope. But thats me. I am encouraged that most are like minded in this arena. Hope we can give you a career airline to work for here. If not, everyone is hiring, so you have options at least right now. That's a good thing. I'm here for the long haul, not going anywhere, and for the most part enjoy my job. Good luck!!!

Your standards are low because you're comparing to a corporate gig. It's irrelevant. Compare to Delta. Compare to Southwest.

I once worked in an auto parts factory. This job is way better than that. But it doesn't matter. And I don't compare the jobs because they're not apples to apples.
How would you know some complaints are "way over dramatized?" In what way? By what metrics are you using to make these judgments? Your corporate job? Please explain.

First of all please show me where I compared working here to anywhere/anything else, other than one little comment about reserve.

It’s great you don’t even know me, but apparently know my whole life story & career history to make those assumptions. Classy.

ChickenFinger: "This job is way better than my corporate gig!"
Me: "Please don't compare to your previous jobs. Look to our peers for reference."
ChickenFinger: "You don't know me, man!"
I'm a little surprised at how defensive you are, given how much shade you were throwing at those who are dissatisfied earlier.

Again, please show me where I discounted ‘everyones’ opinion?

I'm just trying to wrap my head around how you can make that judgment without discounting the opinions of those who have been flying the line for years. You still haven't answered.
