CO telling CA's to keep MCD door open
So in SEA, during Deice days, Ops or SOC has been telling pilots to keep the MCD open.
Of course, this means none of the crew gets paid except for the FA's after a rumored number of minutes. What is yall's thoughts on all of this? Some CAs tell me that since the deice checklist requires MCD closed, they won't say they're ready until the door is closed...and if they won't close it up, then CA's will just deplane the plane back into the gate. Thoughts? |
They're doing it to avoid starting the DOT delay clock.
If they want you to actually deice with the MCD open... Type-I, Fully Body, gotta shut the door for that. |

I would think an ASAP report or email to safety team might bring some common sense to this

What’s an MCD?

No one is forcing you to deice with the door open.
Again, type-I, full body. |
