Obviously no hiring going on right now but once it does pick up how long does PDX typically take for reserve then line? How much could you credit if you pick up a trip or two on your day off if bidding reserve? Upgrade time? Where do the in base guys live around PDX? Please keep it related to this thred meaning no arguing over portland as a city.. thanks.

 

Thats a tough question to answer. Like you said no hiring, and curently no base transfers happening either. It really depends on how much hiring does happen if and when... Currently to many balls up in the air with the merger and economy and lack of attrition. Im a little over a year on property and i wouldnt count on PDX for myself (also my goal) in the next couple of transfer bids whenever they may happen. How long to a line? even more impossible question to answer. Picking up open time on your days off is great if there is any trips to be had. It definetely possible to grab an easy turn or overnight if there is any Currently pretty slim pickens but will eb and flow with the busy seasons. You just really need to be on the OT like a hawk as theres plenty of others trying to do the same things. If you HAVE to live in the portland area due to family then it will be worth it in the long run whenever things open up again. If you dont have to be here I would suggrst other companies with faster movement.... My .02

 

Currently the most junior PDX capt is a Jan 2017 hire and FO is a Mar 2023 hire.

Becauase of PBS and reserves not being too abused, senior people have been bidding down to have a white girl summer. The most junior line holders are that Jan '17 hire captain and two above the most junior FO, a Mar '23 hire.

People live all over the place.

~6 year upgrade not terrible for a not so popular base. Have there been a decent amount of trips available to pick up during busy season for juniors? $$ would take priority the first few years and that's why I've been wondering on avg credit for hustlers out of PDX..

 

Wonder which base has highest retiree wave coming. A321 fleet has the least on a fleet basis, I’d guess over here.

 

SEA & ANC, with a little LAX sprinkled in for the next few years. But it's only a handful until end of the decade.

 

I know that I'm getting old and I am not up to date on what is cool and groovy, but what is a "white girl summer" and how do I get one?
