Neither, I'd guess it's a nice thing to have on the resume but not a game changer

Still no Mil conversion at Alaska right? I've been looking and the answer seems to be "No"

There's a mil conversion once you get called for an interview. Until then, play it safe and just give your logbook flight time.

Non-factor. AS isn't SWA.

Is it possible to attach a cover letter to my Alaska profile after I have submitted the resume and application portion? I can not locate where I can submit the cover letter (I've already submitted my resume and application and I've received the confirmation e-mail from Alaska).

Thanks for the replies in advance.

When you log into the application page, you should get taken to a page with a "My Career Tools" box on top. If you click on the "Saved Resumes" link, you should be able to upload there. I thought I saw somewhere in the application that you could cut and paste it into the resume block during the application, too. But too late in your case...

In the announcement, it said you should place your cover letter in the same document as your resume and upload as resume. Basically make it one document. I wasn't sure if it meant as the uploaded word document or the copy/paste block they provide. So I did both.

I was able to upload a cover letter today after a little bit of clicking. It looks like their server saved it, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Just curious, I know in the past "who I knew" was really important at Alaska. Problem is, I'm from a geographical area of the country where I don't know of any Alaska pilots. I know pilots at every other Legacy/Major, but not Alaska. Aside from this, I feel I'm very well qualified. Just wait and see?

Of course I would move to an Alaska base if hired.

What a great attitude. I guess that's why you're not working for Alaska.
