Alaska is right now about 36% commuters. Management knows the numbers. They know where the votes are. SEA, ANC, PDX have very few commuters. LAX on our side has about 100 commuters even on your side I think about 180 or so drive to work. There is no changing tide my friend. That is a lie someone sold you.

No changing the tide of pilots who are tired of a subpar contract, work rules, scope, and bidding system? Change those items and it doesn’t matter where you live. And there is no our and your sides, unless your talking about management vs pilots. I won’t argue the numbers of commuters with you because I don’t have those stats. But I guess if you have those numbers from management then I know where you loyalty lies and this is a pointless conversation. God bless, enjoy your piles of money, and boat.

I've seen the schedules of those who are my seniority at AS, not even close. Of course that's because they are holding 12 days off of crappy reserve rules.

You said before you had a lot of money not from airline work, so don't try to play games pretending it is. I don't really care how loaded you are. You made a statement that the overall schedules aren't any different, and that is not correct and I am calling you on it. Just because your schedule may be close to the same (as much as I hear about massive disparity from senior to junior there I could believe it), doesn't mean that all the schedules are.

I never said you are working for a regional. I just said you all deserve better. I don't know why you hate the idea of trying to get contract parity so much. I never even said your life itself was bad.

I am well aware you are enjoying being the big rich fish...but I don't think getting our rules would hurt you at all. I have friends at Alaska and I really hope you can make improvements. It helps everyone but it also recognizes the hard work you do.

I appreciate you coming on here with some pushback. For too long these old timers have perpetuated the lies that the AS contract is on par with the big 3.

No, we don't have the same rigs. No, we don't make the same rates. Yes, you work longer days, fly more legs, sleep in worse hotels, have less time off, and are more prone to abuse for free than your peers.

Part of the culture here is gaslighting yourself and your coworkers. And if someone starts bringing up the inconsistencies they're told to "pipe down and focus on your family."

The first step to a better contract is admitting you have a problem.

My credit scores for the 3 different rating agencies were 780-800. I shopped around and found someone willing to write me a pre approval letter. I couldn’t afford anything in the price range you mentioned.

But alas I must be lying...

Haha I still remember 1st yr A320 pay at $44/hr in 2012 and getting a pre-approval letter for a $139k loan in SFO. I felt so rich. I could actually choose the type of cardbox box I would live in: Corrugated or Paperboard. :D

Just curious, is that averaged over the length of the trip, or does that mean you get at least 5:15 each calendar day just for showing up? In other words, Alaska has 5hr min per duty period but all it means is that if you have a trip with 2 duty periods it pays no less than 10hrs. So if you fly 6hrs on day 1 and 4hrs on day 2, the trip pays 10hrs, not 11.

Would the same trip at DL pay 10:30 or 11:15?

We have a 5 hour average per day of duty, it needs to be a 5 hour a day guarantee and so does yours. But yeah I want 5:15!

Yes I personal made that happen! All my idea all my fault. I wish everyone at AS was still in it. It will pay me about 112% of my highest five out of 10 plus 3% 401k. Pretty good deal but I am sure yours is better!

I have 14 days off and a credit of 123... that’s a credit of 7.69 a day. Some of that is premium but still not terrible. I am not all that senior, I can only imagine my last 10 should be pretty good. I know how to win at our system, 30 days of vacation helps, 35 will soon be even better. I am working hard now but this summer I will give the company about thirty, but then I am only coming in at 400 an hour.
