Alaska is right now about 36% commuters. Management knows the numbers. They know where the votes are. SEA, ANC, PDX have very few commuters. LAX on our side has about 100 commuters even on your side I think about 180 or so drive to work. There is no changing tide my friend. That is a lie someone sold you.

Perfect.... prove my point. 3 five day trips a month =‘s 15 days off and a credit of 78.45. I have seen schedules at DAL. Our top 20% are better, our 20-75% are about the same, your bottom 25% are marginally better.
I know I work for a ****ty regional. The worst. I have three homes in Seattle, 2 free and clear. One is getting some polish on it and will hit the market this late spring for 1,400,000.00. I don’t owe a dime on it, I know a lot of regional guys with there great schedules, and scratch, will be making offers on it. You said before you had a lot of money not from airline work, so don't try to play games pretending it is. I don't really care how loaded you are. You made a statement that the overall schedules aren't any different, and that is not correct and I am calling you on it. Just because your schedule may be close to the same (as much as I hear about massive disparity from senior to junior there I could believe it), doesn't mean that all the schedules are. I never said you are working for a regional. I just said you all deserve better. I don't know why you hate the idea of trying to get contract parity so much. I never even said your life itself was bad. |

Every company has advantages. AS has always been a company made up of a majority of non-commuters. Would it then shock you that we have a contract that has very little for commuters? Delta is awesome, but everyone of my friends over there would love to have my A-plan, even give up their extra 10k in profit sharing. Do the math on 30 years multiplied by 1.9 plus another 10 years plus 7% a year. It’s a really big number. I am tired of hearing how much Boeing guys suck, how little our balls are, our contract was written for our life style. Would I like some changes, yes. But right now how L-VX pilots run their mouths dogging me and my family members, I don’t want to go a foot out of my way to help you guys. Learn respect, how to treat and talk to other human beings and you may find them more sympathetic to your cause.

F1, I get it. Merging sucks. Your contract was for commuters. WE HAVE THE SAME DUTY RIGS AS DELTA. 1 for 2, 1 for 1.75, and 1 for 3.5. Does everyone at L-VX realize this.
Seriously, my whole point is that there is room for improvement. Why not work towards it? I am well aware you are enjoying being the big rich fish...but I don't think getting our rules would hurt you at all. I have friends at Alaska and I really hope you can make improvements. It helps everyone but it also recognizes the hard work you do. |

You have a 5:15 average daily min too? Didn't know that. Seriously, my whole point is that there is room for improvement. Why not work towards it? Yes, you work longer days, fly more legs, sleep in worse hotels, have less time off, and are more prone to abuse for free than your peers. Part of the culture here is gaslighting yourself and your coworkers. And if someone starts bringing up the inconsistencies they're told to "pipe down and focus on your family." The first step to a better contract is admitting you have a problem. |

I get it. You don’t have to live in Seattle. Move 45 minutes south of SeaTac, you will find nice stuff 490-750. Doable for an FO... for the Captains in that same area they can find really nice places 750- 1.2. I am just giving you all honest good advice, this is a solvable problem.
My credit scores for the 3 different rating agencies were 780-800. I shopped around and found someone willing to write me a pre approval letter. I couldn’t afford anything in the price range you mentioned. But alas I must be lying... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Haha I still remember 1st yr A320 pay at $44/hr in 2012 and getting a pre-approval letter for a $139k loan in SFO. I felt so rich. I could actually choose the type of cardbox box I would live in: Corrugated or Paperboard. :D

Would the same trip at DL pay 10:30 or 11:15? |

You have a 5:15 average daily min too? Didn't know that. We have a 5 hour average per day of duty, it needs to be a 5 hour a day guarantee and so does yours. But yeah I want 5:15! I have 3 4 day trips this month crediting 76 hours and I'm junior. My point that 5 day trips can be nice doesn't mean that we have a ton of them. we just have some but only a few total anyway. Take a look at our schedules this month if you have so much access to them (obviously not if you think our lines are all 5 day trips). I've seen the schedules of those who are my seniority at AS, not even close. Of course that's because they are holding 12 days off of crappy reserve rules.
