I would be really surprised if Alaska airlines hires anything close to 200, my guess is around at most.

well if your guess hasn’t strayed too far, let us know if you find it. Couldn’t have gone too far.

From my understanding classes are still going, with one starting next Monday and another slated for 6 April. Is there any indication that this will change? Talk about a bad time to be back at the bottom of a seniority list...

As far as we have heard the classes are still continuing.

I’ve personally experienced how fast that could change.

I gave my employer notice and then found myself out of a job with no class date when my 2018 class was cancelled.

Due to the heartless way I was treated I would take every statement made and add “for now”.

A Union buddy of mine who is plugged into this situation told me that the March 16 class is still scheduled as planned. They will continue to interview and hire, but future classes are going to be limited to fill the vacancies left on the last bid, 32ish slots or so. Sounds like any hires not being offered a class date pretty quickly will be put in a pool. That being said, this is all subject to change with the evolving situation.

I’m shocked they wanna continue on with the new base bid. I would have thought they were going to hunker down and ride this out first.

It makes sense to train as many transition pilots and kill that backlog while they don’t need them on the line.

Things are very fluid right now. Being around 15% percent from the bottom doesn't give me much comfort; I wouldn't make any long term plans until we see how this all shakes out.

CNBC just reported that Delta is cutting capacity by 40% for the next for months. :(
