So I don’t get it... In another post you act like SWA is about to put Alaska out of business. Then here, our demands on strength. You know what you can do if you want a strong contract, and no it is not complain like a child on a anonymous forum. Do what the union wants you to do. Do your job, do it safely, do it really well. Don’t slow down, or produce a crappy product. Help this company produce that 15% ROE and then you can demand a better contract on strength. Struggling companies do not give out great contracts, strong companies are the only ones that can do that.
I will say this, I’d say 11 years of JD Power etc awards, with exceptional safety and on time performance combined with industry leading profit margins, for years and years, WITH a contract that saved money compared to our competitors, AND, with no lag during a contentious SLI,.... that’s a pretty solid hand of cards to lay on the table to start the conversation. IMO |

Fair enough. You are making a choice though. Downtown Seattle to SeaTac can be 40 minutes or more too. I fly with New FO’s first year pay buying homes in Gig Harbor, Puyallup, Bonney Lake, Lacey. In fairness I think the Gig Harbor guy was second year. New FO’s are buying homes 45 minutes from the airport. They are not buying them in Queen Anne or Clyde Hill though.
AS. DAL/8. SWA 93. 92. 82 130. 141. 118 143. 164. 132 None of those rates have you buying in Downtown Seattle. |

Agree 100% brother. Demonstrate exceptional value and then negotiate exceptional contract, in that order.

I really wish people would stop comparing hourly rates. We have OK hourly rates. WHAT WE DO NOT HAVE IS WORK RULES THAT WILL MAKE THEM PAY LIKE YOUR OTHER 2 EXAMPLE AIRLINES DO! Compare W2s not hourly rates!
OK W2 2018 406k plus 8,500 in 401k and a fully funded A-plan |

What did you block?
I worked hard but I worked smart too. Why work for straight pay? I think my average credit per month was just under 125 including vacation |
Really, do delta reserves get blocks of hours off or do they get days off, like every other airline even the regionals? Do they have PBS and are able to build their own line? Do they get uniform allowance? (Like a regional). Do they have commutable pairings? Do they stay in the shilo? Do you really compare Alaska to delta? I compare it to sun country.
