Where in the heck would you expect a recently unemployed pilot from those companies to go during that time frame? Do you think they wouldn't have preferred to go to one of the other, higher paying carriers? It's not like flying jobs were abundant post 2008. VX and a couple regionals were all that was hiring unless you wanted to go the expat route.

“800 hardened airline vets that have been thru many contracts, furloughs, acquisitions, and bankruptcies” 🤔
Best guess but in the group of 650 VX OG’s, think there is probably 75-100 that kinda resemble a few of those descriptions, but the US, Midwest, Aloha, ATA crowd also ran to the lowest paying non-union NB job in the US🤔🤔🤔.
The rest of the VX group are just a bunch of X-regional pilots. Talk about sad, and clueless, you just spout out emotional hyperbole and garbage pretending some stance of moral high ground and elitism. Dude, I voted “NO” both times I was given a vote.
Angry, bitter, whinny, unhappy, and hardened… Yup, that’s the group I want hang with, really? Sounds like an incredible life, sign me up!

So SFO Boeing base. Not gonna lie, I thought SF was done. This is great news. Prolonged Buses in fleet over 2023, 2024 means reductions spread out over years, with more growth = reduced involuntary amounts of reductions to other bases.
Cautiously optimistic about this news.

I sure hope so. I’m still hoping for a call from United. I imagine even with a 3.5 year loss of seniority the upgrade would still be faster at SFO if I leave for UA.

I won’t argue it needs some freshening up, but this garbage (“worse then a regional”) contract has paid me $2,464,XXX.XX in the last 6.5 years. That doesn’t include 401k, A-plan. Think your friends at any regional or in a different line of work might struggle to find your line of reasoning.

The reality is that no matter how good it gets here, even if max scope, best NB pay, good schedules, there’s still a fair portion <5 yrs here who are young enough that will still leave for the big 3 because what they offer isn’t found here (various bases throughout country, wide body, greater retirements + movement).
