How exactly is there a pathway to “helping” anyone through APC? What kind of disingenuous nonsense is this?
How are you helping anyone?

There’s plenty of help that can be given on this forum but you can’t understand it if you think the company is against you when in your words “there was 400 lines in 2019 and now there’s only 300 my seniority is going in reverse.” You’ve got a lot of pent up anger against a place you should be just punching the clock at and instead you’re sitting here in an echo chamber hoping it’ll change.

It’s a hiring thread on a pilot forum. People are trying to sort out what it’s like to work here.
Again how is it helpful to misconstrue what I am saying and twist my words? How is it helpful to recommend commuting at the worst legacy to be a commuter?
I don’t have pent up anger. How is it helpful to put words in my mouth?
The fact of the matter is there is less opportunity every year that I have worked here. Mostly due to regional airlines flying more of our flying every month.
This latest bid could be a negotiation smokescreen, which has already been pointed out by many. I wouldn’t want to be even lower on the seniority list as a new hire and remain on reserve for a long time. I’ve flown with captains that were on reserve for 4-6 years as a FO. This is established history at AS. Things a potential new hire needs to consider.
I don’t think anyone rational is seeing a steady progression of seniority at AS. I’m not here looking for help. Others are. Instead of making personal attacks perhaps factually demonstrate how a new hire will progress at AS given different factors.
I’d be happy to be wrong about my prediction around career progression at a carrier that will not support proper staffing or even entertain the idea of scope.
Hell. It’s a carrier that will not even support their employees to be vaccinated in any way but will potentially make mandates to obtain them.
A potential new hire needs to know this stuff. Eyes wide open…
