A guy I know said 2 of his buddies got hired during this last window. I would assume they're close if not done with applications for this window, but thats just speculation. We'll see what happens!

I may be being too optimistic here, but if the hiring target is 300 over the next year there’s no way that many people have been called in just the past month. As long as someone’s regularly updating their app and they’re getting the email every couple of weeks that their app is active, I don’t think anyone can count themselves out. For anyone with a future availability date that’s more than a few months away I think that’s even more likely true.

Of course that’s just me being hopeful on the outside looking in, so we’ll see.

The big if is the 300 part…

At the rate our flying is being handed over to the regionals there is just no way.

Do you think the additional 12 737-9s change the math on that at all?

Again it depends. Does that mean growth? Or does it mean 12 Airbus’ going away?

Mainline seats could continue to decrease as well.

No way we hire 300+ over the next year, as mentioned earlier all growth is at horizon and Skywest, the number of mainline seats may increase slightly but the number of airplanes won’t in any appreciable way. Also you can bet that the second Alaska sees any drop in their projected bookings due to covid all the projected hiring will come to a quick stop.

I hear you, but I probably want to go to AS for the same reasons you went there…

They were the first place that called where the name on the side of the airplane matched the name on the paycheck. So it checked that box. Yes.

Sadly I didn’t think about how the lack of scope would affect me going forward…
