I was tested for nicotine with a mouth swab at the interview 2018.

I think it’s a health insurance thing?

I only had to do the regular urinalysis, so unless it’s worked into that, I doubt I was actually screened for it. The official form states what was tested for and nicotine was not on the list.

There are two different web based solutions I think. I use BidPairings.

Don't use Bidpairings, it's a $7-10 per month subscription and the guy that owns and profits from it and our line bidding misery is on the ALPA scheduling committee. I'm told he is a stand up guy and that I don't question but ask yourself when there is a way better bidding system out there that we should be using to get our QOL back, do you think he'll be in our court when he stands to lose $100-200,000 a year?

BIDSMART.US does the same thing for free and all that Alaska pilot asks for is, if you feel like it go ahead and donate to a worthy charity, NOW THAT'S A STAND-UP GUY!

I had no idea this existed. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Anybody know how AK processes apps? Is it first come first served, batches or just an algorithm that spits a few out of the bunch? Anybody gotten an invite to interview from the latest hiring window? Thanks

If it's anything like our bidding system then there is a ruler and pencil envolved followed buy a recall email and at least one do over.

Works well on the iPad offline too,, just make sure airplane mode is activated before you lose service just incase as it may try to refresh.

I’m trying to use it today and oof. That’s a steep learning curve…

Of course there is. It pairs well with Crew Access and every other ancient process and mentality we’ve had since 1932.

There is no system “out there”. If you are talking about preferential bidding, that is not workable at all with our contract. When we have a contract that can accommodate preferential bidding, everyone in ALPA scheduling will happily put it together including JW. The only base anyone needs a bid sorting program for is Seattle….Not enough lines in the other bases to make it worth it.

My favorite is when Alaska pilots who have never used prefbid mansplain about prefbid.
