Anybody know if AK is still actively pulling apps and interviewing folks? Anybody have insights on numbers of pilots they're still looking for by the end of the year?

They say 600 by end of next year, so I’d divide that by two and that will be closer to reality most likely, I’m not sure how many have been hired this year, a few classes maybe.

I think it was 160ish by year end (starting from the Oct 4th class).

Any idea how AK racks and stacks their applicants? Are they thumbing through resumes or do they use a computer system to rank applicants based on certain criteria?

It’s either by random alphabetical order or by height. Could be a dart board. I did see the spreadsheet once and it seemed arbitrary, which means it’s not done by computer.

Friends and Family, anyone that fills a metric, personal recommendations, OO & QX, everyone else(ordered by qualification). There is no order in terms of time. You can have an application on file and updated but if you are in the “everyone else” category you will be passed up by anyone from the categories ahead of you…
