Congrats. I just got hired into the Alaska family as well as a janitor at corporate. Maybe I'll see you on one of the planes when I move up to cleaning the planes.

Thanks
ABSOLUTELY! I went to Puyallup this past Feb, met the chief pilot there. If you know someone that works for Alaska, have them take you to the job fair to meet the chief pilot ...

I also went to WIA in March, and got my day 1 interview there. Day 2 was later in March, started on 21 July, OE was complete last week, today is first day on reserve.

Although they may not give many interviews at events like WIA, OBAP or Oshkosh, they do keep track of those who attend events. It helps pull up your resume from the stack. As the captain who was on my day 1 interview said to me later, "We have 3000 applicants ... and 1000 of those are RJ dudes with 10,000 hours in RJs--what sets them apart?" It's things like community service, and attending events to meet them that will make you stand out.

Keep after it, this is an awesome company to fly for!

CONGRATS! As a new pilot, I have already come to realize that it's the FAs (along with the CSAs) who are mostly the "face" of the company to our passengers.

Right now, Alaska is hiring some great folks to be FAs. Welcome aboard, enjoy the ride, and I may see you up here in ANC!

Thanks. I'm confident I'll eventually make it to cleaning the airplanes. And remember, charter crews may do it longer, but janitors do it all night!

Yes, I wore a suit and had about a fifteen minute convo about the usual stuff. Why Alaska, are you trying to get on anywhere else, tell us about your career up til now. Keep plugging away, go to any event you think you have a chance of meeting an ACP at, and hope for the best.
