None at all.
We have 5 pages in our scope section and a LOA that protects all the 737s. So "None at all" is incorrect. Our scope is inadequate but we do have something.

I understand that scope protects you guys from having someone fly 737s that say Alaska on them. But does it protect you from the company parking -400s and -700s and replacing them 1 for 1 with E-190s operated by Skywest and furloughing pilots because of it? I'm not trying to be difficult, just curious what the scope language consists of.

No limit on outsourcing, alternate certificate creation, or any flying done by "Airgroup"

Incorrect. Incredibly, our scope clause only protects all the 737's that were on the property or had been ordered as of the date of signing the contract. Any 737's ordered after that date can be flown by anyone.

The LOA covered all current 737s, ordered 737s and options. So unless the newest 737s are new orders and not converted options it does cover all the 737s we have now and will have through the max which comes when our contract becomes amendable.

I'm not defending our scope. It's basically non existent. They could start Alaska International next week if they wanted.

Back to hiring info.....

Big brother Delta has pages and pages of scope & every one of their latest route announcements out of Seattle were on Skywest or Pinnacle. I'm not saying we don't need it because we do. But it can't stop everything.

Notice they're buying 7 jets for 3 routes? Thinking there's more news coming.

More news?? As in 787s flown for the AAG group under a new company called Alaska International? We need to maintain our single fleet type to retain our cost advantage so this option makes sense....

Our pilot group needs to wake up. This issue can hurt the top of the list just as much as the bottom.
