I am also trying to locate an old friend. Thanks for any information.

BTW, I think Alaska has the coolest uniforms in the business now.
As a new hire, I can say absolutely go meet at least one chief pilot, go to Puyallup in Feb, Women in Aviation in Mar, etc.

I don't think you can upload unless you have an app on file. If you do, I am not sure if you can add info. However, be aware the 737 type rating may not make too much difference ... Direct question asked to a CP that I overheard a few months ago.

I just wanted to bump this thread in case anyone is interested in getting hired at Alaska. I thought that other thread was more for Alaskan pilots to talk about pressing issues within the company, such as, "when will they make us wear a hat again" or "when will the LAX base finally close?"

Outside blog? I think this is pretty much it. How much more or what kind of info are you looking for? Seems to me, the handful of Alaska pilots on this board are posting a lot of inside info. Only HR, CPs and interview board members know the top level stuff.

Cesna,

Any chances to meet with a CP or anyone else from Alaska in the near future? I have wanted to work there for some time, just trying to get my ducks in the proverbial row.

Absolutely. Alaska will be attending the NGPA conference soon and the next event following that will be the Pacific Northwest Aviation Tradeshow in Puyallup, WA on Feb 21, 22.

Plenty of guys in your demographic have made contacts at Alaska at WIA and OBAP. Don't let the names of the organizations scare you off.

Yeah, I know of many "pale face males" who got interviews through these organizations. The last time I checked, a great majority in this profession are "pale face males" so I'd say that you have a pretty good shot.

^^^^ What they said.

I'm a middle-aged white guy and I went to two WAI and two OBAP conference before I got the call. You just need to be persistent and get some face time with the right people.
