No dog in the fight as I work elsewhere, but I’m sure the union see’s the gripes on these boards among other platforms and it can be used as a barometer as to the pulse of said union they represent. Continually toeing the company line and shooting down counter viewpoints while labeling people ‘whiners’ in the process makes me question your and a few other’s motivation.

If you think the union uses anything on here as a barometer of anything, you must be really slow. They do real polling, they know the industry, they are not using APC for anything.

I want change, I expect significant improvements. I will not continually throw a childish tantrum on an anonymous website, a tantrum that will achieve nothing besides making me look like a toddler. Dude it’s embarrassing! But yeah, that’s how you think we achieve real results 🤔

The last people who should tout results are Alaska pilots.

I've never seen a pilot group so proud of their methods while subsequently losing at the same time.

“Gross generalization” is a subjective term.
So is exaggeration. The company consistently labels the messages and perspectives of our Union leadership, what you call “direct … areas of deficiency” as gross generalization and exaggeration. The company has maintained for several years now that it is Union leadership fomenting discontent…. “Whining”. Reckon it’s in the eye of the beholder.

The way the company continually violates (knowingly) its own Do the Right Thing slogan, I’d think you might give a little grace to your fellow line pilots, maybe just say nothing instead of calling them whiners.

You know what our elected representation do use as barometer. Direct conversations with the pilot group. I encourage everyone to call your LEC reps as much as possible. They want to hear from you! I for one have been speaking to my LEC as well as a few other committee members(ex-VXers and legacy) I’ve expressed my belief that the openers are three years old and need to be adjusted to the current environment. I also believe my representatives of the union(us) should hold the company accountable for their lack of participation in negotiations for the last three years in the form of full retro pay or an equally large signing bonus. I also discuss the many areas of the contract that are comically behind everyone expect mesa and trans states. Cal them, straight from their mouth. We welcome and need more voices from the union.
