Any idea how long it might take a guy to get PDX? Possibly hold a line there? Is Pdx or sea a more senior base? What about size of those two bases?

I assume with 78 on order this hiring wave is suppose to continue?

Thanks! Sorry for all the Qs.

Last class was 9 Seattle 1 Portlandia. I'm not sure how long to hold a line but you can make just as much money on reserve as a line holder. Seattle and Portland have both been growing with each bid so you should be able to get either pretty fast if not right away. Seattle is the big base with 309 lines in May Portland had 90. The hiring wave should continue.

LAX is stagnant for now at around 90ish crews. LAX growth or movement won't happen until the focus can be taken off the PNW. That might take a few years. We could see a San Diego pilot base in the next few years opening up LAX, or maybe nothing changes and LAX stays the same.

Who am I kidding? Nothing ever stays the same in this industry. When I was hired here 9 years ago, LAX was the junior base in both seats with plenty of growth. It's been a long slide, with a cliff when pdx opened.

They are running classes of 12 and they now upped the planned number to 250 new hires for the year.

Wow. That's a lot, I wonder if they'll even need to hire next year?!

We have more planes comming next year than we do this year. So I would expect to see hiring continue.

That's a lot of Seattle dudes. Is it still possible to get ANC out of the gate?
