Default Alaska show time

Just curious - is show time 1 hr or 30 mins prior? Was surprised to see the crew show up at gate 30 mins prior on a HNL-SAN flight they had to be fresh for - coming from hotel. It wasn't auto traffic - maybe FAs needed a coffee?

I'm willing to bet they hit traffic and/or the van was late picking them up from the hotel. Traffic in HNL seems to be jacked up more often than not.

In a CRM class, the facilitator asked: "What would you do if the F/O arrives at the airplane 5 minutes before departure time?"
An old CA replied: "If he wants to get there so early, that's up to him."

I wonder if this 45 for FO and 25 for CA will last. How about we split the difference and make it 35 for both.

It's not like the CA has to go print out the release anymore.

My 4-y-o daughter has the same logic:

"I need fruit snacks."

"No, you want fruit snacks."

You want paper. You don't need paper. (Excepting ETOPS.)

If you want paper, fine. You're still supposed to be on board before the PAX.
