No, I mean literally. It didn't post. Always looking forward to a good BLS meme, a little disappointed.

SW will eat Allegiant’s lunch in BLI.
Free wifi on your phone/ipad vs. nothing.
Free carry on in the overhead vs. $50.
Unlimited connections from LAS/OAK vs. zilch.

Once the US opens the border….the floodgates open IMO Allegiant will be run out of BLI with their tail between their legs. You’ll see SW expand nonstop service to LAX/PHX/ SAN & more.

Theres no doubt that Southwest offers a better hard product, network and reliability. However, they moved into a few of our other markets such as SAV, FAT, and VPS and we're still doing fine. FAT has even moved up to 3x a day flights on football weekends. Management does need to tread carefully though. We can not afford to have a summer as troublesome as the previous one again with a cancelation rate above 10% many days even without weather. We are lucky that other airlines' IROPs served as a distraction to our issues. Our network model relies heavily on a near 100% completion factor in order to not royally screw passengers.

Hopefully the increased competition drives management to improve our product as well. We do tend to have a higher income passenger than other ULCCs so there is a market for things such as WiFi, extra legroom seats, etc in my opinion. I suspect these things will come in time if there is profit to be made.

UA and WN both are planning to annihilate Allegiant after seeing how solid the leisure routes market this last summer was. brace yourselves fellas, it'll be a rough couple of years.

What are United going to do? Relaunch Ted?

Every time I look at buying tickets, SWA is more expensive than Delta.

You can't out allegiant allegiant with our tremendously low cost structure and fiercely loyal customer base.

Bring it.

If UA and WN want to race to the bottom and price match Allegiant's low fares, good luck. Any race to the bottom will be won by Allegiant because we already at the bottom in our ticket prices. A large number of leisure flyers are hyper focused on the cheapest fare, good luck UA and WN getting your fares cheaper than ours.

Now if a family is going to be bringing a bunch of bags, then WN might be close enough in price to where the family will book WN. But when the Allegiant ticket costs 30% of the WN ticket, good luck getting people to line up in the cattle call for a couple of free bags. Allegiant's model has been working for a reason. If Allegiant has some rough years it won't be because of the legacies and WN, it will be from Breeze, Frontier and to a lesser extent Avelo.
