"Building Unity" slate simply carries on the failed single-minded Unterseher pursuit of getting released and striking. If you want to leave an additional half- million dollars on the table & watch the calendar click over to the 2030's with still no contract, by all means vote for them.

Everywhere I go in my base, and in the conversations I’ve had with pilots across the line, I keep hearing the same thing: the support for Blue Skies is not just strong. It is overwhelming.

It will be interesting to see how fast some of you turn on Blue Skies when they to find out that they are dealing with a company that has no intention of dealing with this union or pilot group. This has been true since appag days. The company will either get their way from the new slate whoever wins or they will make them the next unreasonable, unprepared, in the way group. Then time and time again a small loud group of pilots turn against their fellow pilots and take sides with the company and undermine any unity that would eventually force the Company to actually sit down and make a deal with the pilots. At this point we are more likely going to get the contract that they company want not a contract that we deserve. I would hope we as a group would vote that down, but with so many that this is just a stepping stone to skip the RJ's and fly mainline AC on their way to a mainline airline, they will likely vote for whatever comes across even if its garbage. What is more sad is the loud minority will likely do the same, giving up once again work rules, retirement, just for the quick hit of more money.

What is sad is some people do not believe that union leadership should follow the will of its membership. They feel they are superior in their intellect and ideology and blindly follow whomever advances their political agenda.
If the majority of the group wants something, that is what we should get and vote on. Any passed TA is the will of the people.(It cannot pass without a majority vote.)

How do you know they are not doing so? Results of surveys are not generally available to the group for obvious reasons. People I talk to want to hold the line. And no matter what slate wins both seem to indicate the current negotiating committee stays.

I agree most I know want what we deserve and that does not mean once again caving to the company for pay and small bump in retirement but a continued decline in quality of life. We have waited way too long to not get a great deal. It is just a load minority that wants to cave to get the money now and hope for better conditions later.

I believe that is what the Blue Skies State is saying and from what I have seen from the GU team and communication from them,I believe it. The BUS state is more of the same. We will see what the will of the people decide soon on that. Maybe the last few posts will be right and the BUS state will win by a landslide. I’m reading the room differently.

A passed TA is the will of or group of pilots, and the will of the pilots is what is most important, not a few people pushing their agendas.

I get that sentiment but it is naive and uninformed. Waiting this long has only DECREASED our leverage and ensured that we will vote on an eventual TA that is below legacy standard. Why? Because we have lost all leverage.

we lost political leverage when Trump won and even more with the IBT lawyer Deidre quitting the NMB (per her linked in page). In other words, we had a better chance of getting released a year ago than we do today.

we lost market leverage when NK filed bankruptcy. Now NK rates will drag us down with the NMB. Spirit Pilots are getting priority interviews at the legacies. And they are leaving en masse flooding the legacy hiring classes.

Allegiant is “over staffed” per management and their actions speak louder. No hiring classes for over a year. That means there’s no attrition and maybe they really are over staffed.

so what does this mean? It means waiting has gotten a worse deal. We didn’t just lose once in a generation leverage when Andrew was the boss. This current NC and Unterseher have lost us enormous leverage as well. They thought Deidre at the NMB, Trump or Kamala would save us politically. They didn’t see the NK reality and how that would screw our leverage when hiring picked by the legacies picked back up or the concessions NK would vote in.

JR, Unterseher, Josh, smiles, etc. they will quickly throw AR under the bus and say he screwed our leverage, but they have killed our leverage just as much if not more than AR did.
