To be clear: they didn’t “pass” contracts whatever that means. Management and Alpa/Union/Pilots agreed to increase their pay rates immediately with the Union.

Management and exco would be wise to agree to an immediate pay raise like the other carriers…at least that what 9easy is suggesting here.

That is absolutely not going to happen. Full contract re-write or no deal. The union learned their lesson when management renegaded on the PBS negotiations after the first contract. Also, the tone I get from most pilots is that subpar QOL is even worse than our subpar pay.

I agree I don’t think it’s going to happen. I was responding to 9easy, it seemed like he was suggesting that Allegiant management do what Mesa, Skywest, etc did and that was management and union agreeing to a short term/immediate pay raise.

I agree with him that market forces are creating more leverage for for us than the NMB would be... although that's certainly not going to deter the Exco from entering the process.

Absolutely not, all or nothing. The ship can sink.

Incorrect - these new deals have included improvements well beyond pay rates, including min day pay, hotels, retirement, min days off, reassignment etc. The new Skywest deal actually provides a higher retirement contribution to senior pilots than Allegiant pilots get. The company can get a deal done if they want to without waiting for the the NMB, this old wives tail has been proven false this year in several instances.

Maury would take that deal for a large raise and no work rule changes tomorrow if the union and pilot group would approve it. But the pilot group as a whole would never ratify it so Andrew tells the company no. That's one thing I'll give him credit for.

Yet another out of touch comment from Nate, an aloof senior who couldn't GAF about anything except flying his trip as scheduled, going home, eating his dinner, and counting his money from VFNs.

Something seems familiar about the number 702...

The company isn’t “waiting” for the NMB. It will be the Union that applies to the NMB for assistance, once all proposed language for the new CBA has been drafted, and if the company continues to not negotiate “in good faith”. Sure, the tide *could* change, but that seems unlikely based on past behavior.

And even if/when this does happen, the NMB cannot force the company to do anything. I’m sure they have every intention of dragging this out as long as they can to avoid paying and treating us properly. What the NMB can do is declare an impasse which could ultimately enable us to strike.

the problem with applying to the NMB is that you lose control of the timeline. The mediator gets to decide what sections will be discussed, what sections will be parked, and how often you will meet. They can apply pressure to either side as they see fit and get to determine who they think is and isn't being reasonable.

Like everything else in the RLA, it's intended to facilitate an agreement but in reality, all it does is drag the process out. That's why it's usually management that makes the first filing.

If they can get an agreement outside of mediation, then it behooves them to do so. Both sides.

Out of touch comment? I just said I agreed that’s not going to happen. Context context context. 9easy said Allegiant should do what SkyWest, Mesa, etc did and I said that won’t happen. News flash: Mesa’s rates are only good for 2 years and then they go backwards and revisit them. That would be the worst thing that could happen here. No way we do a Mesa style deal here.
