First Officer Positions - Chilean Nationals
Saw this today and thought it was interesting: https://jobs.lever.co/allegiantair/2...8-0933fea66b75
Allegiant is specifically reaching out to citizens of Chile to hire as FOs. From the job post:
I don't know anything about Chile's aviation system or flight training there and had only seen Australians being sponsored in the US to date, so this stood out to me. Maybe Allegiant has been hiring Chilean pilots for some time and this isn't anything new?

Maybe they ran out of Aussies.
Sounds like a human trafficking case. Or at least they'll think that after they work here for a while. Foreign nationals at the mercy of this company isn't going to bode well for them.

I didn’t think pilots qualified for an H1B visa considering the requirements.

Allegiant requires maybe a GED?
The job must require a bachelor’s or higher degree, or its equivalent, to perform the duties.

Didn't AR say in his video that he is going to try and stop this? He mentioned the foreign pilots and using lobbyists to prevent the management from abusing the H1B visa stuff...

The H-1B1 program provides for the temporary employment of nonimmigrant aliens in specialty occupations from Chile and Singapore, limited to 1,400 nationals of Chile and 5,400 nationals of Singapore. The H-1B1 program is governed by many of the rules that apply to the H-1B program. The period of employment is one year. Extensions may be obtained twice but only in one year increments. Further extensions can be obtained only with the filing of a new Labor Condition Application.
This really sounds like scraping the bottom of the barrel. Having to reapply every year and limit is 3 years. Then they need to fly home and reapply from scratch.
